Leah Labelle’s new EP titled “Love To The Moon” was released on September 7th, which would have been her 32nd birthday. However, Leah tragically died in a car accident earlier this year. We were blessed that her loved ones were able to put this project together in her honor.
The EP consists of 5 songs, and each song displays Leah’s pure and soft tone throughout each song. We loved that each song was able to show her vocal ability. The EP starts with the song “Sun” which was produced and written by friend and mentor Pharrell. Other contributions came from producer Midi Jones for the song “Man Made,” which is actually my all time favorite. Sam Hook also contributed to the songs “Made Man,” “Something About the Cold”), and Tom Strahle, who produced “Something About the Cold.” The EP really sets the tone with the song ” Orange Skies.” This song was recorded on a voice note from Leah’s phone. You can really feel and hear her emotion with this song. The song was recorded for a good friend of Leah’s whose child passed away. The song is very ironic because it was also the perfect song to leave us with to remember her beautiful soul. I know many people find comfort in that song especially if you’re a fan, family member, or close friend. As she softly sings these words “When I’m gone, sing my song / Promise to remember me forever more.” Those words definitely resonated with me.
We are just happy to have music from this beautiful angel. We are glad her friends will not let her gift go in vain. Leah gained recognition from becoming a Top 12 finalist on American Idol Season 3. She was also very well-known on her YouTube Channel doing song covers. However, we are happy that Leah Labelle’s music will live on forever. May Leah and her husband, Rasaul Bulter Rest In Peace.
Love To The Moon EP is available on all streaming services.
